0voteA: that indicates how fill that line is, the first latter Ches means "Chaser" Missing, or Yud means "Yatir" extra, and second letter means how many letters (letter Yud) Alef 1 Beis 2 ......Shin Tav means a full line, as you could see the letters are condensed or expended.
